Margot Dillard

Margot is a person of many talents and attributes. She has been practicing the art of wordscribing for more than thirty years. Building upon her personal creative writing of short stories, poems and views of life, she started supporting company newsletters and copywriting for individuals. Margot then branched into learning the art of selling and how to craft powerful presentations and marketing materials.

While her personal interests and creative side demand she involve herself in projects that feed her writing needs, the reality of life and a business career keep her focused on operational aspects of business in technical fields. Margot’s talent for writing with finesse, creating interest while maintaining the integrity of the technical points and the customer’s jargon have been at the core of her success in supporting business goals.

As a versatile wordscriber, Margot has seen her work in broad distribution print media for the past twenty years. With her background in copywriting and corporate communications, as well as her intuitive sense and understanding of business marketing, she blends the voice of the message to optimize interest and effectiveness.

When the message is based upon a technical concept and product, Margot is able to hone the communication into document that represents the client’s need for relating complex and critical data, yet still make the material readable. It isn’t often that a writer can straddle both creative and technical writing requirements, but Margot finds the balance.

Published materials have been put forth in nationally distributed consumer catalogs, on the internet, local newspapers, business publications and in national technical magazines; CQ Communications, Popular Science, Popular Mechanics, Communications Today, Popular Communications, Virginia Business, QST and others. She has just completed her first non-fiction book on wine with others almost ready to share.
